Τhe Regulatory Authority for Railways (RAS*) is the Regulatory Body for railway transport in Greece.
Its main mission is to ensure a fair and non-discriminatory access to the national railway infrastructure and services.
Its vision is to contribute to a continuously evolving railway market in Greece, with a constantly growing share in the total transport output in the country, for the benefit of the citizens and the environment.
RAS was established in November 2010 within the provisions of L. 3891/2010. The first members of its Board of Commissioners were selected and appointed in March 2011 and its initial staffing occurred in November 2011.
RAS enjoys operational independence, administrative and financial self-sufficiency and is not subject to control from any government body or any other administrative authority.
